This story was sweeter than I expected and I very much appreciated that.

There was a lot of emotional constipation in David and it could have easily become tedious and annoying to read, but the author pulled it off and I was never irritated by it. And ultimately I believed in them and in their relationship, understood David's recalcitrance and his need to run and I understood Ethan's motivations behind forcing David to acknowledge and accept himself so that they could be together. I was drawn into Ethan and David's drama almost against my will. The writing was fun, humorous and just plain entertaining and even beautiful at times. Perhaps it is because I had low expectations going into the story but I was very pleasantly surprised by Indigo Wren's storytelling abilities. However, I can't stress enough how much these implausible scenarios fade into insignificance when faced with the talent this writer possesses. I also found the convoluted planning required to pull off Ethan's great kidnapping scheme very unrealistic. I absolutely think that more than three years should have gone by between the incident in Santa Fe and Ethan 'kidnapping' David. There was much about this story that required a reader to suspend his or her disbelief. Warning: This book contains erotic waffles, sexual math, blatant ABBA worship, kidnapping, nude napping, dog-napping, journal hijacking, betrayal, redemption, and red-hot man love so poignant and passionate, you won't know whether to say 'awwwwwww' or 'oooooohhh!' One where he'll be forced to face the truths from which he's been hiding-and the man from whom he's never stopped running. When an opportunity arises to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime getaway to a private island resort, David never suspects a trap is about to be sprung. He's even learned to cope with the nightmares.
